Today, the Sunday and Daily Telegraph published a report into an investigation about the finances of Lord Mandelson. The report begins with details of the purchase by Lord Mandelson of his home in 2006 at a cost of 2.5 million and an apparently unaccounted for gap in the information about where he could have obtained all of the money to pay for it.
The Newspaper has been investigating two possible sources of funding which have not been disclosed to Parliament by Mandelson. One is in relation to a Company called Medley Global Advisors (MGA). The other is Mr. Friedhelm Eronat and his former company, Cliveden Group.
At the moment, Lord Mandelson denies the allegations. The Telegraph seems to be very close to obtaining incontrovertible evidence in relation to MGA that Lord Mandelson is guilty of a clear breach of the Parliamentary rules.
This comes at a time when Mandelson is soon to publish his book ‘The Third Man.’
Perhaps this latest scandal will turn Lord. Mandelson’s book into a best seller.
